Best Nonhybrids in Jurassic World Alive- According to Ed

A while ago I did an article about the most valuable nonhybrid, which at the time was Nundasuchus. However, many things have changed, and many meta staples have come and gone. Also nowadays, when it comes to nonhybrids, it seems only a select few get a ton of hybrids while others like poor Deinotherium only have one hybrid, and it is not very good. So, I have compiled a list of the more valuable nonhybrids of each rarity (minus Apex and Omegas) and will go through what is probably the most valuable creature in each rarity- then the winner for the most valuable nonhybrid overall.

In order to be considered valuable, you need to do well within your rarity. While Wuerhosaurus is a very valuable Rare and is better than Compsognathus gen 2 within the Rare rarity, Compsognathus gen 2 is better as the combined weight of Tarbognathus, Compsoraptor, and Compsovenator more than make up for the combined ground Wuerhosaurus has on Compsognathus gen 2 along with Carnotarkus. However, more hybrids isn’t better either. Take Utahraptor. It has 2 hybrid lines with 3 hybrids in each with Spinotahraptor, Spinotasuchus, and Albertospinos for one and Utasinoraptor, Utarinex, and Dracos Lux in the other. Apart from Dracos Lux, which is an Apex that has heavily fallen off, everything in these two lines is not good and Utahraptor is far less valuable than Panthera and Constrictoraptor, who are usable, if not great in their respective rarities.

Commons:

Ankylosaurus gen 2: Starting off strong, we have Ankylosaurus gen 2. This common is bad, but it has two hybrid lines. The weaker one includes Alankylosaurus and its future hybrids, the best of which is Alankylodactylus. However, it’s the Tyrannodactylus line that is what you should look into and invest in. Everything in this line blows the other one out of the water. The Legendary is better and the Unique is better than both the other Unique and even the Apex arguably. And on top of that, you have a top rare in Ankylocodon and a solid epic in Ankylodicurus. However, Tyrannodactylus is by far the best use for this line. But even though it’s not as strong of a Unique, Alankyloceratops is still good and can wall out anything that cannot break its shields. So you have 2 bad options in Ankylosaurus and Alankylosaurus, four great options in Ankylodicurus, Alankylodactylus, Alankylodactylus and Alankyloceratops, one amazing option in Ankylocodon (it’s a very dangerous rare), and the outstanding Tyrannodactylus.

Dimorphodon: Dimorphodon has only one hybrid line. Not to mention that Dimorphodon itself is pretty bad. But once you start hybridizing it, you cannot go wrong. Every hybrid this Common makes is not only usable, but a meta staple. Skorpiodactylus is the one that you can argue against, but to say it’s bad is completely incorrect. Dimodactylus keeps getting buffs and is a threat in the Legendary meta even. Skorpiostegotops is a monster of a Unique and can play with the big bad Apex creatures above it, but there is no point when Cerastegotops does the job better and is also a top tier in the overall meta. As long as you avoid Dimorphodon itself, you cannot mess up.

Gallimimus: Gallimimus originally wouldn’t have been a contender for this list if it weren’t for the most recent patches. But first, let’s look at the first line it was a part of. Gallimimus makes Monomimus, which was once a top threat years ago, but has since fallen to the wayside- until recently, when it got swap in dodge with cheat death added, one of the best swaps in the game along with the annoying darting counter. Then you have Pterovexus, which is one of the most unique creatures in the game, where its strength arises when the power level of a format is greater. You abuse claw sleight to activate your on escapes, and the higher the power level, the better the options to pick from like on escape ambush or hunt on escape or extreme obstruction. If it was just these two, again, Gallimimus would’ve been absent from this list, but its other line got some love. Aquilamimus is not very good, but Aquicomilus is another pretty decent legendary, doing big damage while soaking up distracted hits. Then you have Aquilosaurus, which does even more damage while abusing healers with all of its heal reduction. This Unique is a meta staple immediately. And then you have Gallimimus itself, which is overall not a bad Common. It has fallen off in the Common meta, but was never a staple to begin with, as Inostrancevia was a better cunning overall. But all-in-all, a very good resume for Gallimimus.

Iguanodon: Iguanodon is the best common. Protect the herd and vitalizing impact together make for a combination that many fierce struggle to deal with, thus making the resilients in the Common meta like Euoplocephalus and Plateosaurus more desirable than almost any fierce. Then you have the next two in the line: Edmontoguanodon and Bajatonodon. I’m going to skip these as they aren’t very good. You know what is good though? Protonodon is good. Very good. It’s a top 3 unique and very usable in the highest meta. It does big damage and can heal back up really easily. Proto Lux on the other hand is less good, but it has something that a few other creatures on this list share: brawl viability. Proto Lux may not be as good as Protonodon in the arena, but in Brawl, this thing is a menace. So while Iguanodon may not have as many good hybrids as some other creatures on this list, it does have extreme value in the ones that are good.

Irritator gen 2: Irritator gen 2 has had two hybrid lines for a very long time, and one definitely has received more love than the other. For starters, Diplotator and Irritator gen 2 are OK and Scaphotator is a bad Epic. That out of the way, now we get into the stuff that matters. Suchotator is a decent rare that has seen better days but still has the tools to contribute to a battle. Thylacotator is a bit worse relatively speaking, but it isn’t terrible. But it’s the Uniques that make up for it. Pantherator is a really scary Unique with good damage, hunt on escape, and swift wounding swap in. The counter actually can put dents into a lot of things and the nullifying bonus really makes this a deadly creature. Thylos Intrepidus is a dedicated tank buster with high speed and one of the wildest abilities in dual rending assault. Then you have the Apex hybrids in Sah Panthera and Dracos Intrepidus. Both are not super amazing in the current meta, but to say they are bad is incorrect.

Nundasuchus: Nundasuchus, I think, still has the most hybrids in a whopping 10 hybrids and then itself. However, some are not incredible. Lystrosuchus, Pyrosuchus, Lystrosavis, Troodaboa, and Einiasuchus have fallen off, but can be good in certain formats. However, the rest are good investments. Majundasuchus is still a pretty good rare with its bulk and armor reduction, which is super important with Nodosaurus and Ankylocodon. Sarcorixis is a top epic with double stuns and double ferocious impacts. Pyrorixis may not be the best unique, but when Ampelorex comes out to play, I’d happily trade Pyrorixis for it. And then Rajadorixis is one of the best creatures in the game.

Ophiacodon: Ophiacodon probably isn’t the most valuable Common on this list because for starters, it shares the same line as Ankylosaurus gen 2 and then that’s it. But I would like to give it an honorable mention seeing as unlike Ankylosaurus gen 2, it is a decent Common itself.

Parasaurolophus: Parasaurolophus is a common that has many uses. For starters, one thing you should avoid is Parasaurolophus itself. While Iguanodon may be at the front of the herd, Parasaurolophus is at the back and is probably the WORST creature in the game (or one of them). Tragodistis and Paramoloch are also not stellar. Atrocodistis is a decent Unique, and while it may not be the force it was, it can still put in work. The same is true for Tuoramoloch, which can use its heals to stall out opponents. Atrocimoloch is a solid Unique that has both damage and defense on its side. As for Concatoloch, it may not be the threat it once was, but it can still be a threat. Atromolistis however is now the newest Apex added and is easily within the top 5. With its stunning, healing, and sheer output, it does so much.

Stegosaurus: Stegosaurus is weirdly a bad Common. As one of the most popular dinosaurs, being one of the worst creatures in the game is odd to me. But the same cannot be said for its hybrids. Stegodeus is the one exception, as it is a bad legendary, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it got a buff, and if it does, you have both Thagomizer and instant resilient shielded strike on the table. Geminideus is also an Apex that has fallen off, but it’s one that can just wall out whatever cunning it wants to. However, the line you should care about is the Stegoceratops line, because like Dimorphodon, everything in this line is good. Also, like Dimorphodon, the Legendary Monostegotops is the only one that dips a little, but it’s still a threat to not take lightly. Stegoceratops is a monster with collision and instant resilient strike, being a good trapper on or off the field. Monostegotops can become a more punishing swapper by healing back up whenever anything wants to swap while also using nullification to deadly effect. Skorpiostegotops is a stupidly good unique while Cerastegotops is a top Apex. With the Stegoceratops line, it’s hard to mess up.

Rares:

Dimetrodon: Dimetrodon has historically never been that great of a rare. I only remember considering it for one format, and even then, it wasn’t outstanding. On the other hand, Dimetrodon has a bunch of hybrids. Postimetrodon and Tryostronix are not good, and neither is the unique Giganyx. Magnapyritor and Tyrannometrodon are better, but not by a whole lot. But it’s the Apex creatures that matter here, as Dimetrodon has 3 to choose from. Skoonametrodon has seen better days, but it by no means a bad pick at all and can be a pain to remove. But when compared to Gryganyth and Magnaraptor, it isn’t that great of an option. These two can be used at the highest levels of play and are threats that must be taken into account.

Doedicurus: Doedicurus has two lines. The Megistocurus line isn’t that great as you’re better off spending your DNA on both the nonhybrids instead of Megistocurus, which is funny as this was a top Legendary when it was released. Powercreep. However, like Ophiacodon, you have Doedicurus as a solid creature within its rarity as well as the Tyrannodactylus line, which are all pretty decent. It probably will not be beating out Ankylosaurus gen 2 though.

Marsupial Lion: Marsupial Lion is definitely a top contender. The only blotch on its resume currently is Thylacotator, which isn’t bad necessarily, but not faring well in the Epic meta. Indolycan is another iffy one as well. But everything else is either usable or just good. Thylaconyx is a pretty decent Legendary even though many newer fierce have started to usurp it. Aenocyonyx is also in the same boat in the Unique meta, and in a more limited format can easily rise to the occasion. Then you have the Thylacotator lines. Pantherator is a great Unique and while Sah Panthera may not be a top Apex anymore, it is no slouch. Thylos Intrepidus is a Unique that can delete just about any resilient in the game and Dracos Intrepidus can do even more damage. And the cherry on top is that unlike many of these creatures, Marsupial Lion is also a threat in its respective meta.

Preondactylus: Preondactylus is a very valuable Rare as it shares many similar lines with Ankylosaurus gen 2. However, Dreadactylus and Preondactylus itself carry a lot more value than Ankylosaurus’s Alankylosaurus, Alankyloceratops, and Ankylosaurus gen 2 itself.

Tupandactylus: Tupandactylus is in a very similar boat to Dimorphodon. Tupandactylus is a bad Rare, worse than Dimorphodon relatively speaking. But Tupandactylus has one good thing going for it: Poukandactylus. While by no means a top Unique, Poukandactylus is still a decent one and can be a pain in the side of Uniques that can’t break through the dodge.

Triceratops: Like Stegosaurus, Triceratops is an iconic Dinosaur that unfortunately stinks in game. However, it shares the Stegoceratops line with Stegosaurus, which as previously stated, is absolutely solid and you really cannot go wrong. But then you have Alankyloceratops and Alankylodactylus, which aren’t as solid relatively speaking, but still very good.

Skorpiovenator: Again, it is in the Dimodactylus line, and while it isn’t as useful as Tupandactylus, it should still be mentioned. Sadly, like Tupandactylus and Dimorphodon, Skorpiovenator itself is bad.

Tenontosaurus: Tenontosaurus was at one point the worst Rare in the game. Then it got buffed and became the best Rare. That title has now been given to Nodosaurus in my opinion, but Tenontosaurus is still an excellent Rare. Tenontorex isn’t a good Unique, but it does have its moments here and there. The same is true for Plateorex, who is overall a better Apex than Tenontorex is as a Unique. Then you have Concatosaurus, who is still a decent Unique that can outheal your team if you cannot break it. Concatoloch is also an option, but Concatosaurus is just better overall.

Epics:

Concavenator: Concavenator shares many of the same benefits that Tenontosaurus has. It’s good on its own, and it also goes into Concatosaurus, which is one of the best Uniques around. However, Concavenator may share the same mediocre Apex, but it also has another line that leads to both Trykovenator and Glyptosavis. Trykovenator is definitely the better of the two as it can better deal with Spinotops after it charges while also being able to revenge kill Ampelorex usually. Glyptosavis isn’t as good, but it can be a scary closer with a couple tricks up its sleeve. Unfortunately, Antarctovenator and Diplovenator aren’t much to write home about, but they still aren’t terrible.

Gigantspinosaurus: Gigantspinosaurus is an Epic with only one hybrid line and it only has two hybrids in said line. That being said, everything in this line is pretty strong, with Gigantspinosaurus being one of the, if not THE strongest nonhybrids ever relative to rarity (The only competition is really Blonde or Dracorex gen 2 from way back when). Giganspinoceratops isn’t as crazy in the Unique meta, but it’s still really good. And Spinotops is at least a top 3 creature- probably second in the overall rankings. No matter how you spend this DNA, you’ll get something good from it.

Gryposuchus: Gryposuchus has two hybrid lines. The Ovylenken line isn’t as strong, but Grylenken is one of the scariest Legendaries around and can just delete some creatures turn one with a critical hit. I use Grylenken in the Library, and Grylenken can easily deal over 10,000 damage in one hit. Ovylenken isn’t as strong relatively speaking, but it can still hit like a truck when it gets set up. However, Grypolyth is a much stronger Unique with its rend and bleed combination aided by healing and ferocity. Then you have Gryganyth, who is somewhat falling off, but can still compete at the highest levels of play and must be taken into account.

Monolophosaurus: Monolophosaurus has three lines. Monolophosaurus is a bad Epic, and Scorpios Rex is a mediocre Legendary, and compared to the other two Legendaries Monolophosaurus goes into, it’s the worst of the three. Monomimus and Monostegotops aren’t top tier either, but they can still put in their fair share of work and have roles that most other creatures cannot fill as well. Then you have the hybrids of both. Monomimus makes Pterovexus and Monostegotops goes into Skorpiostegotops and eventually Cerastegotops. All three are very solid options and can serve you well.

Sinoceratops: Sinoceratops got a buff recently and is now a very deadly swapper in the Epic format and can even swap in and shut down top tiers of all classes. It is tied with Stegoceratops as the best swapper in the Epic rarity, and whichever is better is more of a personal preference. Sinoceratops is another Epic with three hybrid lines. However, two aren’t very good. The Thoradolosaur line is disappointing, and the Dracos Lux line has a worse Legendary and Unique, but Dracos Lux is OK. However, Spinoceratops is a great Legendary, Giganspinoceratops is a great Unique, and Spinotops is the best Apex and probably second to Ampelorex in the overall game.

Stygimoloch: Stygimoloch is an Epic with lines all over the place. First up, Stygimoloch itself is bad. Paramoloch is also not super amazing, but has some moments. It does the have two more hybrids after that. Atrocimoloch isn’t at the top of the Unique rarity anymore, but still is definitely one of the better Uniques around. You then also have Tuoramoloch, which is OK. It can be really stally and easy to work around, but it can wall out some creatures with its heals. Then you have Concatoloch, which isn’t a stellar Apex anymore. As for Ankylomoloch, it isn’t bad, but the recent meta in the Legendary format has powercrept it into oblivion. Crichtomoloch is again, another mediocre Unique. Not bad, but not super either. Proto Lux is slightly better off in the Apex meta, especially when Brawl is up for debate. As for Ankylos Lux, it’s one of the worst Apex creatures now and should be avoided. However, Atromolistis is an Apex that you do want to have handy because it's pretty strong and is already starting to take over the arena.

Tyrannosaurus Rex: Tyrannosaurus Rex has a couple lines that are decent. Tyrannosaurus itself isn’t amazing and is back to being the worst of the 4 Epic slow chompers, being outclassed by Giganotosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, and Allosaurus gen 2. But in a lower powered format, a 142 Tyrannosaurus still hits like a truck. Its hybrids can hit even harder. Erlidominus can hit really hard, but folds to shields and armor, which is everywhere. Indoraptor is still a mess and Indonemys is alright. The other hybrids are better. Trykosaurus is a deadly Unique that can steamroll a game, especially if it gets set up and gets the bulwark off. Trykovenator is even better at revenge killing as well as soaking up hits from resilient and cunning creatures. Indominus Rex is also another great use for your Tyrannosaurus Rex DNA. The classic hybrid still hits very hard and matches up decently well into the Legendary meta, being able to take on many of the top fierce creatures that run rampant. And with cloak, even top tiers like Gryganyth and Trykovenator will drop.

Legendary:

Angel: Angel herself is a very solid Legendary. She is a terrifying revenge killer and can easily tilt a match into your favor with a setup or even a swap prediction. Spinotops is even scarier, having the strongest turn one in the game.

Armbruster’s Wolf: This wolf is in an interesting spot. It has one hybrid line with Arctocanis, who is a decent Unique, but more on him in a sec. Eremocanis is a top 5 creature in the game currently. It hits hard, can do many different things, and can stick around for ages with its healing and cheat death abilities. As for Arctocanis, it’s not a standout Unique, but it’s pretty decent. However, one bit of armor increase and it’s not having a fun time. Both Arctocanis and Armbruster’s Wolf can absolutely dominate brawl. Armbruster’s Wolf is one of the fastest creatures with a priority team speed up ability, and it has more to offer than the other creatures with this. You also increase their attack, which, if you want something faster that increases team speed and attack with priority, you have to go with Dire Wolf, which is not very good. On top of howling impact’s major benefits, you also have solidarity, which allows not just yourself, but the entire team to cheat death.

Buck: The Buck has just itself and Ampelorex to work with. However, the Buck is one of the strongest Legendaries in the game. He hits hard, he heals up with devour, and can soak up hits. As for Ampelorex, it’s one of the best things in the game. It snowballs, can wall out so much, and can even take down its should-be counters.

Doe: The Doe is stronger than the Buck, but Tyrannodactylus isn’t as strong as Ampelorex. It’s still a top tier Unique that can hit really hard and is another great creature for brawl with evasive shielded roar. As for the Doe, she’s probably the strongest Legendary in the game and can delete a large majority of the Legendary meta with one hit, and can usually finish off whatever else with a followup instant impact.

Panthera Blytheae: Panthera Blytheae has been around for a while. Its ability evasive hunt combined with distraction and stun immunity paired with that nullifying counter makes it a dangerous foe. PB is able to nullify many forms of shields and armor increase as many are attacking moves. The same is true for Pantherator, except bulkier creatures aren’t as safe thanks to its piercing and bleeding abilities. And while Sah Panthera isn’t as strong, it still can be a decent threat and can wall out fierce with afflicting trap.

Rebel: Rebel has been one of the best Legendaries since he hit the scene and has continued to dominate. Instant cunning strike paired with armor increase and affliction can make for a dangerous combination. Rebel’s escape is one of the best running moves out there and can make for a clean getaway. Recently, Rebel got a hybrid in Ceranosaurus. While disappointing on release, the introduction of ambush on escape, which is the best on escape in the game, allows Ceranosaurus to be a pain in the side of many adversaries.

Unique:

Ceratosaurus: Ceratosaurus is a decent Unique. It’s by no means a top contender, but it isn’t bad either. Cerastegotops is a very good Apex however and has been a top meta threat for a while now. You have good stats, good abilities, and good resistances to make for a dangerous Apex.

Dracovenator: Dracovenator hits really hard but can’t really take hits in return as well. But with cloak and high damage, who needs to worry about that? While the meta isn’t favorable to Dracovenator, it can still dish out damage. The same is true for Compsovenator. It can still be a threat, but the current meta isn’t kind to it.

Nomingia: Nomingia is probably tied for the strongest Unique nonhybrid. With distraction immunity, a counter that’s an impact, and all the dodge and distraction, Nomingia hits really REALLY hard. And with on escape rampage, you can easily set up and get ready to fire off a decimation with a possible critical hit. Nominrex is a similar story, but unlike Nomingia, Nominrex has a swap in, a better on escape, and cautious cunning rampage, which does big damage with priority.

Styracosaurus Lux: Styracos Lux isn’t a contender honestly. I just included it so that it wouldn’t be the only nonhybrid Unique with a hybrid (sorry Estemmenosuchus) missing. However, with stun and bleed, it can have a decent shot at Ampelorex. As for Dracos Lux, it’s the same story. With affliction, bleed, and stun, it has a shot to clutch a matchup, but it isn’t consistent and has fallen to the wayside.

Final Thoughts:

All in all, I would say that out of these, the best ones to pick from each rarity are as follows:

UNIQUE- For Uniques, it’s pretty obvious that Nomingia takes the top spot.

LEGENDARY- As for Legendaries, while it has its uses in brawl, brawl is temporary, and that deals a blow to Armbruster’s Wolf. The Buck on the other hand is still a very dangerous threat in brawl as well as in the Legendary format. And with Ampelorex being one of the best things in the game, it wins out.

EPIC- For Epics, Concavenator is probably the top Epic here. Glyptosavis, Trykovenator, and Concatosaurus all provide different options as well as Concatosaurus allowing for more flexibility being a unique. Not to mention Concakuisaurus and Concavenator are also pretty good.

RARE- For Rares, this gets far muddier. Triceratops and Tupandactylus are contenders because they both have one solid line as well as a few other uses outside of it. Dimetrodon may not have many great uses outside of the Apex options, but all the Apex it does have can and do show up a lot in the meta. Marsupial Lion may have the same number of Apex options as Dimetrodon, but they’re worse. But the other choices more than make up for it. And that is why I say Marsupial Lion is the most valuable Rare.

COMMON- Commons are even moreso up for debate. I would say that right now, Stegosaurus, Irritator gen 2, Dimorphodon, Parasaurolophus, and Ankylosaurus gen 2 are probably the contenders for the top spot. I personally give it to Stegosaurus, but really any of those are good.

And all of this can change. Based off datamines, Gallimimus is going to get another Apex, and if this is true, Gallimimus will shoot up on this list. Based off datamines as well, Purrusaurus gen 2 and Lythronax are also probably going to join the list as Saurolyth and Blonde are rumored to create a monster (BASED OFF DATAMINES. THIS ISN’T SET IN STONE). However, Ludia has a habit of using the same creatures again and again and again. Notice how many of these creatures have multiple Apex creatures, with some having 3 like Concavenator, Stygimoloch, Dimetrodon, and Marsupial Lion. I’m not surprised if Sinoceratops, Monolophosaurus, and Doedicurus get more hybrids. Meanwhile you have something like Megaloceros, which has very little going for it. You probably won’t see them touch it because it isn’t in the main rotation. At the end of the day, not only are these nonhybrids very valuable, constantly stockpiling their DNA is probably the best investment.

Thank you all for reading. What would your pick for the most valuable nonhybrid be and who would you give the overall crown to? ~ Ed

Rexy is strong and it is the best legendary even though it cannot beat doe in a head to head, rexy just swaps to a better creature

Things like this make you really realize how much love some creatures get whole things like Dienotherium, Beelzebufo, Quetz Gen 2, Sinosauropteryx, and many others get tossed away like garbage. Especially Quetz Gen 2. Poor thing still doesn't have a hybrid and the only change it has gotten in its many years in the game is the change to Ferocious Shielded Heal.
