Update 3.14 Creature Review

"Jurassic World Alive Update 3.14: Creature images with a green and purple background, and text 'Release Notes' below. Review by Ed."
Jurassic World Alive Update 3.14 Release Notes

So, this is going to be a very quick article. Like VERY QUICK. The notes were two pages long. No buffs, no new mechanics, and no QoL changes (yet). So, let’s get into the new patch.

NEW CREATURES

TITANOSAURUS (Epic)

Titanosaurus with a long neck in a natural setting. Blue hexagon designs display moves like "Tail Whip." Text reads "TITANOSAURUS / EPIC."

Speed: 100

Armor: 30%

Crit Chance: 5%

Critical Multiplier: 125%

Resistances:

50% Stun

50% Pin

50% Distraction

100% Vulnerability

75% Armor Reduction

Moves:

Shielded Heavy Strike

Intimidating Stance: Priority. Self: Increase attack and armor 50% 2 turns 4 attacks. Cleanse. Target highest attack: Reduce healing 50% 2 turns. Cooldown 2

Tail Whip: Lowest hp: Reduce armor 25% 2 turns 2 attacks. Attack 1.5. Impose vulnerability 2 turns 2 attacks. Cooldown 1. Delay 1.

Decelerating Counter

No Escape

Titanosaurus has some good stats and a decent kit. It is now the slowest creature in the game that is not an Omega. However, despite the solid stats, I don’t think it will hold up in an overall Epic meta. Gigantspinosaurus is right there. It is less susceptible to Dimodactylus, but it lacks the staying power that many other Epics have. And with the delay on tail whip, which is its main attack and form of speed control that doesn’t require getting hit. It’s not bad, but because the Epic meta is so power crept, Titanosaurus will struggle to make an impact.

TITANOTOR (Legendary)

Dinosaur with a long neck and orange spines roars in a forest. Blue hexagonal sidebar lists attacks like "Instant Resilient Strike." Text: Titanotor, Legendary.

Stats:

HP: 5100

Attack: 1600

Speed: 102

Armor: 30%

Crit Chance: 15%

Critical Multiplier: 125%

Resistances:

50% Stun

50% Pin

100% Distraction

100% Vulnerability

50% Bleed

Moves:

Instant Resilient Strike

Intimidating Stance

Earth Shaking Stomp: Lowest hp: Reduce armor 50% 2 turns 2 attacks. Attack 1.5. 100% chance to stun. Cooldown 2

Fierce Devouring Rampage

Alert Showdown

Counter Power Heal (6%)

Titanotor I have more faith in, but not as much. Combining Giganotosaurus with Titanosaurus has made a decent hybrid that definitely has a shot, but with the highly power crept meta, it might struggle to make an impact. Stomp is a decent move, but with stun immunity everywhere and without no escape, Titanotor needs to rely on showdown to trap stuff. I do see this Legendary having success, but it, like Titanosaurus, won’t be a top meta pick. Disappointing for the first two Rebirth-related creatures to be just OK and not as impactful.

FINAL THOUGHTS

So, that’s it. The datamined Isle of Trials is teased at the end of the notes as well, but that’s the only other thing that is here. It seems like this is a throwaway patch, but there’s 100% more. With Rebirth on the way, I’m not surprised if more and more creatures related to the movie drop closer to the release date. But yeah, that’s kinda it. I wish I had more to say but I don’t. Have a good one!

Do we think that “isle of trials” is a mode? If so, is it likely to replace Isla events??

I really wanted the creature updates in this one, they did something last update but I was hoping for the big reworks of 20 creatures from the past, bugs fixed were nice I guess, very cryptic message on the isle of trails, excited for that. I'm sure there will be more creatures to come, though the rest are all uniques or apex, from leaks I've seen. I think titanpsuarus is pretty decent, not amazing but can put up a fight, and tinator is definitely better and got some nice things going on but not op. Overall, kind of dissappo8nting but should get better evaluation quick.

Both of these were kinda bummers. I wanted to see Titanosaurus get the nodosaurus and wall off anything that can’t smash through. I wanted to see Titanotor have a 150% crit damage and Critical Obstruction in addition to crazy damage and wall-off mechanics. But no, we got canned green beans and stale rolls

I mean according to datamines, later this patch. As for the sauropods, they aren't amazing, but not bad by any means. As for the Nodosaurus treatment, I disagree. We only need one Nodosaurus. But it should've had more hp and maybe a better way around shields and armor. I find it odd that this big sauropod has the same hp as Dracorex

I’m personally not a fan of this update as of now because it just added two creatures, fixed some bugs, and was overall just a teaser for the isle of trials. I get that it’s a big new thing but even for isla events we got more information on it rather than just saying that it will be arriving.
