Vote Now: Which Jurassic World Alive Creature Needs a Rework?

Colorful dinosaurs with vivid patterns against a dark background. Text reads: "Help us rebuild a forgotten creature. Vote now! IDGT902.com."
Buff an Apex/Unique in Jurassic World Alive!

Every meta has its favorites and its forgotten. For every creature that dominates the Arena, there are others sitting on the sidelines- outclassed & underused. But in Jurassic World Alive, everything can change with one thing: a buff.

What’s a Buff?

In JWA, a buff is when a creature gets an upgrade. Maybe it gains more attack, more speed, better resistances, or a complete move rework. Some buffs are minor. Others are so impactful they push a creature straight into the meta.

The Buff Trap: Not Every Buff is a Win

While buffs can breathe new life into a creature, they don’t always work as intended. Sometimes, a buff:

  • Pushes a creature into the wrong class: making it lose its identity (e.g. a cunning suddenly acting like a fierce).

  • Ruins its niche: by removing the one unique role it had in raids or tournaments.

  • Creates imbalance: leading to overperformance & eventual nerfs.

  • Solves the wrong problem: such as giving a speed boost when the real issue is lack of damage or resistances.

Occasionally, the dino actually performed better before their buff, because they had a distinct role or counterstrategy. This project isn’t about throwing stats at forgotten creatures. We want meaningful changes that enhance what makes each one special.

Why Do Some Creatures Fall Behind?

It's rare that a creature stays competitive forever. Creatures fade into obscurity due to:

  • Power Creep: New creatures come with stronger kits & natural synergy, pushing older ones out.

  • Poor Synergy: Some creatures just don’t mesh well with teammates or strategies.

  • Outdated Kits: Older creatures may have basic moves that don’t keep up with new mechanics like alert states, affliction, shield shattering moves, or specific passives.

  • Overspecialization: Some creatures are great in theory, but only in very specific matchups or tournament setups.

Why Buffs (and Nerfs) Aren’t So Simple

In a perfect world, creature balance would be adjusted regularly. Buffs & nerfs would roll out every update based on real performance data, shaking up the meta & keeping things fresh.

But Jurassic World Alive isn't that simple.

JWA is a game built on long-term progression. Players spend months or even years unlocking, leveling, & boosting their creatures. The cost of DNA, coins, and boost investment is high. Many creatures require exclusive event spawns or raids that rotate over time.

Every buff or nerf carries real weight:

  • A creature getting nerfed after months of grinding can feel devastating.

  • Buffing a creature too far can make it a must-have, forcing players to scramble & invest even more to keep up.

  • Rapid rebalances risk alienating the player base that’s spent years building their collections.

So, when buffs do happen, they need to be thoughtful & carefully considered in terms of player impact, investment, & meta.

The goal of this community project isn't solely about making a dino “stronger"- it’s to reconsider that creature's place in JWA’s overall design & competitive balance.

The Plan: You Choose, We Rebuild

Here’s how it’ll work:

  1. Vote in the poll for the creature you want to see reworked.

  2. Once the poll closes, we’ll take the top-voted creature(s) & create multiple proposed reworks.

    • Each version will include updated stats, move changes, new synergies, and maybe even a new passive or alert mechanic.

  3. We’ll create a YouTube video breaking down the rework ideas, explaining the pros & cons of each.

  4. You’ll vote again on which version should become “the community rework.”

We’ll include your feedback & publish the final version in a follow-up article/video.

This is your chance to help give an underused creature a fresh spotlight.

Why This Matters

Many of us have spent months grinding for creatures, some we never ended up using. Whether it’s an Apex that got overshadowed by the next release, or a Unique hybrid you invested in before the meta shifted, we all have favorites that never really got their moment.

This project is a way to bring those creatures back into the spotlight, powered by your vote & your ideas.

Alacranix is a creature I really think has potential, his only issues are the lackluster stats and exploitable oe, along with the 1st and 3rd moves being outdated. I use an et4 ala in gyro and he does relatively well at times, especially when it comes to revenge killing spino and ampelo. And when he gets the telson set up there isnt much that can counter it (except for magna and raja).

Alacranix definitely has potential. I think a rework to its OE & possibly some resistances could really help it too. This Apex never really had a chance in the meta- it came at the wrong time.

I like this idea behind this. There are so many creatures that just aren't useful anymore. It'd be great to see players getting a say in this. Idgt- will you be working with Ludia on this? Either way, can’t wait to see the reworks.

We plan to submit it to Ludia when this project is finished- but it is up to their discretion whether they do anything with it or not. Hopefully they do or at least take the feedback on the creatures the community would like to see buffed.
